Justin finished both his American and Canadian Championships quickly. Justin obtained his Canadian Championship, owner-handled, at only 14 months old.
Most importantly to me as his breeder, owner and handler is Justin’s win as the 1999 USRC National Sieger under Anton Spindler. There was an entry of 230 dogs total. It was just wonderful. I believe it is the first time an American Bred dog from American bred parents breeder-owner-handled has ever won such an event. Usually the winners are imports or bred from imports.
Justin has also won V-1 USRC Select several times, including winning under Juergen Wulff, beating out many imports and past Regional Siegers. Judge Wulff gave him the Select Award describing him as “medium sized, very correct, sound moving dog, with typey head and expression.” See USRC Magazine, Issue II 1998. In September 1999, I also took Justin to the Bay Area Rottweiler Club and repeated Justin’s USRC Select Award and V-1 in Sieger Class under FCI Judge Gabrielle Wodak.
I took Justin to the World Shows in Mexico City. Justin won the working class, V-1, three of the four days and won V-2 one day. Justin got his Mexican CH and 1 CACIB point as well. Justin won V-1 in the working class at “The World Sieger Show” on Sunday, June 6, 1999, under Enrique Fellippi from Argentina. I was very proud of Justin and I handled him myself.
Justin’s Schutzhund 1 score was 276 “a” with a High in Trial, High Obedience in Trial. Justin’s Schutzhund 2 score was 268 “a” with High Scoring Rott in Trial, High Scoring SchH 2 and High Scoring Tracking in Trial. Justin’s Schutzhund 3 score was 270 “a” with a High Scoring Rottweiler in Trial, under an USA (German Shepherd) Judge. With this title, Justin is now the recipient of the USRC Gold Medal Award, one of the few, if not the first, in the country to so qualify. Justin was owner-handled to all of these working titles. Justin also received the CRC Gold Achievement award as well as the MRC Hall of Fame Award.
Justin is a medium sized dog, 65 cm, with excellent bone and substance. He has a beautiful head with black eyes and a black mouth. He has clean and clear markings, a very short back with lots of angulation. He is very clean coming and going and has very tight elbows. His temperament is impeccable; he has incredible prey drives with a nice balance of defense drive. He is a very confident and physical dog, but can be trusted with strangers. He is outgoing, and he is neither sharp nor is he inappropriate or untrustworthy. Justin is a very social and friendly dog with a tremendous amount of confidence.
Justin and I would also like to thank his other mother, Andrea Sterling, for raising him for the first year and doing a great job in laying the foundation for what would come to be not only a successful show dog, but successful working dog as well.
Justin also thanks all of those who made him the dog he is today, Cheryl Cates, Walter Kuberski, and Andreas Mueller, and those who have chosen to breed to him in the Netherlands, New Zealand as well as those in the United States as he now has IPO titled, V rated as well as AKC pointed get.
